Description
The sanitisation step of the Safe SVG WordPress plugin before 1.9.10 can be bypassed by spoofing the content-type in the POST request to upload a file. Exploiting this vulnerability, an attacker will be able to perform the kinds of attacks that this plugin should prevent (mainly XSS, but depending on further use of uploaded SVG files potentially other XML attacks).

Detection & mitigation playbook
Open-source dependencyDetect
Scan your dependency tree (package-lock.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, requirements.txt, go.sum, etc.) for darylldoyle/safe-svg, including transitive dependencies — a direct dependency you never call can still pull in a vulnerable version.
Fix
Update darylldoyle/safe-svg to 1.9.10 or later, then make sure no transitive (indirect) dependency still pins the vulnerable range — O3 confirms GHSA-5h7w-hmxc-99g5 is resolved across your whole dependency graph.
Workarounds
Escape or sanitise the affected output on the server side rather than relying on client-side filtering, and add a Content-Security-Policy that blocks inline script execution so injected markup cannot run even if it reaches the page.
