Description

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.4 could allow a remote attacker to trigger pre-existing stored Python component code in a public workflow, executing it under the flow owner's runtime context within the server process. This bypasses the intended trust boundary where public execution paths are restricted to server-trusted component code.

Detection & mitigation playbook

Vendor / appliance
  1. Detect

Inventory every langflow langflow deployment and check each version against the affected-products list above.

  2. Fix

Apply the langflow langflow security patch or hotfix for CVE-2026-18894 on the affected version, following the vendor advisory for your exact build.

  3. Workarounds

Stop passing untrusted input into the interpreter or shell: call the affected binary with an argument array rather than a composed command string, reject anything outside a strict allowlist of expected values, and run the component under an account that cannot reach beyond the work it legitimately does. Alongside that, restrict the management interface to trusted networks and apply the vendor's recommended configuration mitigations.
