Fix: mardiros/pyshop@ffadb0bCVE-2013-1630 is a Improper Input Validation vulnerability in pyshop. A fix is available for pyshop — see the affected versions and patch details below.
pyshop vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks due to using HTTP to retrieve packages from the PyPI repository
EPSS Exploitation Probability
Probability of exploitation in the next 30 days, from FIRST.org EPSS.
Real-World Exposure
pyshopReal-time download stats are indexed for npm and PyPI packages. This vulnerability affects PyPI packages — download data is not available via public APIs for these ecosystems.
Description
pyshop before 0.7.1 uses HTTP to retrieve packages from the PyPI repository, and does not perform integrity checks on package contents, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted response to a download operation.
Affected Packages
| Ecosystem | Package | Vulnerable range | Fix |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🐍PyPI | pyshop | all versions | 0.7.1pip install --upgrade 'pyshop==0.7.1' |

Open-source dependencyDetect
Scan your dependency tree (package-lock.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, requirements.txt, go.sum, etc.) for pyshop, including transitive dependencies — a direct dependency you never call can still pull in a vulnerable version.
Fix
Update pyshop to 0.7.1 or later, then make sure no transitive (indirect) dependency still pins the vulnerable range — O3 confirms CVE-2013-1630 is resolved across your whole dependency graph.
Workarounds
If you can't upgrade right away: gate or disable the affected feature, validate untrusted input at the boundary, and avoid passing attacker-controlled data into the vulnerable path. O3's runtime protection blocks exploitation in production as an interim safeguard until the upgrade lands.
