Denial of Service in http-live-simulatorGHSA-xgp2-cc4r-7vf6
GHSA-xgp2-cc4r-7vf6 is a security vulnerability in http-live-simulator. A fix is available for http-live-simulator — see the affected versions and patch details below.
Real-World Exposure
How broadly this vulnerability is actually deployed: weekly install volume shows current usage, and reverse-dependency count shows how many other packages break if it stays unpatched.
http-live-simulatornpmDescription
Versions of http-live-simulator prior to 1.0.8 are vulnerable to Denial of Service. The package fails to catch an exception that causes the Node process to crash, effectively shutting down the server. This allows an attacker to send an HTTP request that crashes the server.
Recommendation
Upgrade to version 1.0.8 or later.

Detection & mitigation playbook
Open-source dependencyDetect
Scan your dependency tree (package-lock.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, requirements.txt, go.sum, etc.) for http-live-simulator, including transitive dependencies — a direct dependency you never call can still pull in a vulnerable version.
Fix
Update http-live-simulator to 1.0.8 or later, then make sure no transitive (indirect) dependency still pins the vulnerable range — O3 confirms GHSA-xgp2-cc4r-7vf6 is resolved across your whole dependency graph.
Workarounds
Cap what an attacker can consume: apply request size, rate and timeout limits in front of the affected component, and run it with memory and CPU limits so exhaustion degrades one worker rather than the whole service.
