Description
A security flaw has been discovered in omec-project amf up to 2.1.3-dev. The impacted element is the function RANConfiguration of the file ngap/handler.go. The manipulation results in null pointer dereference. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. Upgrading to version 2.2.0 is sufficient to resolve this issue. Upgrading the affected component is recommended. The same pull request fixes multiple security issues.

Detection & mitigation playbook
Open-source dependencyDetect
Scan your dependency tree (package-lock.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, requirements.txt, go.sum, etc.) for github.com/omec-project/amf, including transitive dependencies — a direct dependency you never call can still pull in a vulnerable version.
Fix
Update github.com/omec-project/amf to 2.2.0 or later, then make sure no transitive (indirect) dependency still pins the vulnerable range — O3 confirms GHSA-4qf2-p32m-7hmf is resolved across your whole dependency graph.
Workarounds
If you can't upgrade right away: gate or disable the affected feature, validate untrusted input at the boundary, and avoid passing attacker-controlled data into the vulnerable path. O3's runtime protection blocks exploitation in production as an interim safeguard until the upgrade lands.
