Description
Grav Lightbox Gallery plugin 1.1.0 before 1.3.2 on Grav 2.x calls any medium method named in image, thumb or thumb_options shortcode values without core's allowed media action check. A page editor can chain addMetaFile with value, toYaml or toJson to read server-readable YAML files, such as account password hashes, 2FA secrets and API keys, into a publicly viewable page.
Detection & mitigation playbook
VulnerabilityDetect
Identify every host running the affected component and compare the installed build against the fixed version below — for source-built or distro-packaged software the version string, not a lockfile, is the source of truth (`dpkg -l`, `rpm -q`, or the binary's own `--version`).
Remediation status
The records we use list no fixed release for CVE-2026-124434. Check the upstream advisory for a patched version, and apply the exposure-reduction steps below in the meantime.
Mitigate without a patch
Assume what was exposed is already known: rotate any credential, token or key that the affected component could return, restrict the endpoint to callers that genuinely need it, and strip sensitive fields from responses and error output at the boundary rather than relying on the client not to read them.
