Description

Concrete CMS versions 9.0.0 through 9.3.2 are affected by a stored XSS vulnerability in Board instances. A rogue administrator could inject malicious code. The Concrete CMS security team gave this vulnerability a CVSS 4.0 Score of 4.6 with vector: CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:A/VC:L/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N. Versions below 9 are not affected. Thanks, m3dium for reporting. (CNA updated AC score to L based on CVSS 4.0 documentation)

Detection & mitigation playbook

Open-source dependency
  1. Detect

Scan your dependency tree (package-lock.json, pnpm-lock.yaml, requirements.txt, go.sum, etc.) for concrete5/concrete5. O3's reachability analysis confirms whether the vulnerable code path is actually invoked in your application, so you act on real exposure instead of every transitive match.

  2. Fix

Update concrete5/concrete5 to 9.3.3 or later, then make sure no transitive (indirect) dependency still pins the vulnerable range — O3 confirms CVE-2024-7512 is resolved across your whole dependency graph.

  3. Workarounds

If you can't upgrade right away: gate or disable the affected feature, validate untrusted input at the boundary, and avoid passing attacker-controlled data into the vulnerable path. O3's runtime protection blocks exploitation in production as an interim safeguard until the upgrade lands.

  4. How O3 protects you

O3 pinpoints whether CVE-2024-7512 is reachable in your code and exactly where to fix it, then blocks exploitation in production at runtime until the patched version is deployed.

Tailored to CVE-2024-7512. Runtime protection reduces exposure until a permanent patch is applied and verified — it complements patching, it doesn't replace it.
