scrambleeeerPyPI

Malicious code in scrambleeeer (PyPI)
What this malware does
Package advertises a trivial string-shuffle utility, but its exported function scrambleeeer() opens a TCP socket to bax.h4x.tv:6363, duplicates stdin/stdout/stderr onto that socket, and spawns /bin/bash via pty.spawn. Any caller who invokes the documented API hands an interactive bash shell on the installer's host to whoever controls bax.h4x.tv:6363. The destination is hardcoded, not user-configurable, undocumented, and unrelated to the package's stated purpose.
When using the provided library, the code starts a reverse shell to a hardcoded location.

Search your lockfiles and build artifacts for scrambleeeer (version 0.1.0).
If you installed it — respond
scrambleeeer is built to steal secrets, so assume every credential the build or runtime could read is compromised. Remove it from your project and lockfile, then rotate ALL exposed secrets — npm/registry tokens, cloud keys, CI/CD secrets, SSH keys, and any .env values — from a known-clean machine. Audit logs for unauthorized use of those credentials.
Did it already run?
If scrambleeeer was installed, its post-install payload may already have run. Removing the package does not undo that — check outbound connections and credential use from the install window onward.

Detect & block this
O3 blocks scrambleeeer-class packages before install and in CI — and if it already ran, its runtime egress monitoring catches the credential exfiltration and severs the channel.
