multi-convertPyPI
Advisory published Updated
multi-convert is a confirmed malicious PyPI package (MAL-2026-18429) that steals credentials and exfiltrates sensitive data (malicious versions 0.1.0, 0.1.1, 0.1.2…). Do not install it — remove it immediately and rotate any exposed credentials.
Malicious code in multi-convert (PyPI)
What this malware does
In this campaign, specific versions of involved affected packages hide malicious actions. The malicious code is hidden in specific versions of a dependency (is-it-ai), intentionally pinned by specific versions of dependent packages. All package versions were uploaded with malicious intention; the ones without malicious references are clearly intendent only to hide a cover for the rest. When triggered, the malicious action fingerprints the environment and contacts the remote server. If it responds with an URL, it will be downloaded and executed.
The malicious code trigger is in 0.1.4, other releases are just to cover it.

If you installed it — respond
multi-convert is built to steal secrets, so assume every credential the build or runtime could read is compromised. Remove it from your project and lockfile, then rotate ALL exposed secrets — npm/registry tokens, cloud keys, CI/CD secrets, SSH keys, and any .env values — from a known-clean machine. Audit logs for unauthorized use of those credentials.
Did it already run?
If multi-convert was installed, its post-install payload may already have run. Removing the package does not undo that — check outbound connections and credential use from the install window onward.

Detect & block this
O3 blocks multi-convert-class packages before install and in CI — and if it already ran, its runtime egress monitoring catches the credential exfiltration and severs the channel.
