Malicious code in nicegui (npm)
What this malware does
Malicious npm package published by threat actor "ryanmccollum1" typosquatting the popular Python NiceGUI framework. Part of the same supply chain attack campaign as redeem-onchain-sdk, which collects SSH keys, AWS credentials, .npmrc tokens, Docker auth, Chrome saved logins, .env files, and git history, exfiltrating over a raw TCP socket to an AWS-hosted C2. Published by threat actor "ryanmccollum1" as part of the same campaign as redeem-onchain-sdk.
The package nicegui was found to contain malicious code.

If you installed it — respond
nicegui is built to steal secrets, so assume every credential the build or runtime could read is compromised. Remove it from your project and lockfile, then rotate ALL exposed secrets — npm/registry tokens, cloud keys, CI/CD secrets, SSH keys, and any .env values — from a known-clean machine. Audit logs for unauthorized use of those credentials.
Did it already run?
If nicegui was installed, its post-install payload may already have run. Removing the package does not undo that — check outbound connections and credential use from the install window onward.

Detect & block this
O3 blocks nicegui-class packages before install and in CI — and if it already ran, its runtime egress monitoring catches the credential exfiltration and severs the channel.
