{"id":"CVE-2026-54465","aliases":["GHSA-8j3g-f24p-4mpw"],"url":"https://o3.security/vulnerability/CVE-2026-54465","summary":"websocket-driver: Memory exhaustion in HTTP header parser","details":"websocket-driver is a WebSocket protocol handler with pluggable I/O. Prior to 0.8.1, when websocket-driver is used to implement a WebSocket server on top of a TCP server using WebSocket::Driver.server() or to complement a WebSocket client, a peer can make a single connection consume an unbounded amount of memory by sending an HTTP request or response with a never-ending list of headers. This can lead to the receiving process running out of memory. This issue is fixed in version 0.8.1.","published":"2026-07-17T20:06:06.980Z","modified":"2026-08-12T21:26:55.913567128Z","cvss":null,"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"websocket-driver","fixedVersion":"0.8.1"}],"fix":{"url":"https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/commit/17b569f232896e71d458404ccf4854f80e987710","label":"faye/websocket-driver-ruby@17b569f"},"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/54xxx/CVE-2026-54465.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/security/advisories/GHSA-8j3g-f24p-4mpw"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-54465"},{"type":"FIX","url":"https://github.com/faye/websocket-driver-ruby/commit/17b569f232896e71d458404ccf4854f80e987710"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-12T21:26:55.913567128Z"}}
