{"id":"CVE-2026-50017","aliases":["GHSA-cjhr-43r9-cfmw"],"url":"https://o3.security/vulnerability/CVE-2026-50017","summary":"pnpm binds unscoped user-level npm auth credentials to a repository-selected registry","details":"pnpm is a package manager. Prior to 10.34.0 and 11.4.0, pnpm can send user-level unscoped npm authentication credentials to a registry chosen by a repository-local .npmrc file. In the reproduced case, the user's npm config contains a default registry and an unscoped _authToken. The repository does not provide a token-bearing auth line. It only sets registry= to a different registry URL. During normal pnpm metadata/install workflows, pnpm binds the user-origin unscoped credential to the repository-selected registry and sends it as an Authorization header. This vulnerability is fixed in 10.34.0 and 11.4.0.","published":"2026-06-25T16:56:04.836Z","modified":"2026-09-06T03:46:02.351211446Z","cvss":null,"epss":{"score":0.00437,"percentile":0.36729,"asOf":"2026-09-08"},"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","fixedVersion":"10.34.0"},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"pnpm","fixedVersion":"11.4.0"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/50xxx/CVE-2026-50017.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/pnpm/pnpm/security/advisories/GHSA-cjhr-43r9-cfmw"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-50017"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-09-06T03:46:02.351211446Z"}}
