{"id":"CVE-2026-47242","aliases":["GHSA-46q3-7gv7-qmgg"],"url":"https://o3.security/vulnerability/CVE-2026-47242","summary":"Net::IMAP: Command Injection via ID command argument","details":"Net::IMAP implements Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) client functionality in Ruby. Prior to 0.6.5 and 0.5.15, when Net::IMAP#id is called with a hash argument, although the ID field value strings are correctly quoted (escaping quoted specials), they were not validated to prohibit CRLF sequences. While Net::IMAP#enable does process its arguments for aliases, it does not validate them as valid atoms (or as a list of valid atoms). The #to_s value is sent verbatim. Arguments to either command could be used by an attacker to inject arbitrary IMAP commands. This vulnerability is fixed in 0.6.5 and 0.5.15.","published":"2026-06-22T20:19:41.222Z","modified":"2026-09-01T12:55:51.003876926Z","cvss":null,"epss":{"score":0.00131,"percentile":0.03023,"asOf":"2026-09-02"},"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"net-imap","fixedVersion":"0.6.4.1"},{"ecosystem":"RubyGems","name":"net-imap","fixedVersion":"0.5.15"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/47xxx/CVE-2026-47242.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/ruby/net-imap/security/advisories/GHSA-46q3-7gv7-qmgg"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-47242"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-09-01T12:55:51.003876926Z"}}
