From 2.4.0 until 2.11.3, the authorization layer and the /config traversal layer do not agree on what object the path refers to. In this case, a path authorized for one config object is accepted, but then resolves to a different config object during traversal. This happens because the authorization layer uses string prefix matching and the /config traversal layer parses array indices numerically using strconv.Atoi(). This vulnerability is fixed in 2.11.3.","published":"2026-06-23T17:55:11.317Z","modified":"2026-08-12T03:51:11.228965540Z","cvss":{"score":5.4,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N"},"epss":{"score":0.00167,"percentile":0.06344,"asOf":"2026-08-15"},"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"github.com/caddyserver/caddy/v2","fixedVersion":"2.11.3"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/45xxx/CVE-2026-45692.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/caddyserver/caddy/security/advisories/GHSA-x5w9-xh9r-mvfc"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-45692"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-12T03:51:11.228965540Z"}}
