Prior to 1.9.0, when LDAP TLS is enabled (LDAP_USE_TLS = True), Lemur's LDAP authentication module unconditionally disables TLS certificate verification at the global ldap module level. This allows a man-in-the-middle attacker positioned between Lemur and the LDAP server to intercept all authentication credentials. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.9.0.","published":"2026-05-12T21:28:06.362Z","modified":"2026-08-07T11:31:24.301631979Z","cvss":{"score":6.8,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N"},"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"PyPI","name":"lemur","fixedVersion":"1.9.0"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/44xxx/CVE-2026-44305.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/Netflix/lemur/security/advisories/GHSA-vr7c-r5gj-j3w5"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-44305"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-07T11:31:24.301631979Z"}}
