{"id":"CVE-2026-42038","aliases":["GHSA-m7pr-hjqh-92cm"],"url":"https://o3.security/vulnerability/CVE-2026-42038","summary":"Axios: no_proxy bypass via IP alias allows SSRF","details":"Axios is a promise based HTTP client for the browser and Node.js. Prior to 1.15.1 and 0.31.1, he fix for no_proxy hostname normalization bypass is incomplete. When no_proxy=localhost is set, requests to 127.0.0.1 and [::1] still route through the proxy instead of bypassing it. The shouldBypassProxy() function does pure string matching — it does not resolve IP aliases or loopback equivalents. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.15.1 and 0.31.1.","published":"2026-04-24T17:57:26.975Z","modified":"2026-08-07T11:31:14.073393076Z","cvss":{"score":6.8,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:N/A:N"},"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","fixedVersion":"1.15.1"},{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"axios","fixedVersion":"0.31.1"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/42xxx/CVE-2026-42038.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/axios/axios/security/advisories/GHSA-m7pr-hjqh-92cm"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-42038"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-07T11:31:14.073393076Z"}}
