Anyone who obtained that code from chat history, logs, screenshots, or copied QR payloads could recover the long-lived shared credential.\n\n### Impact\n\nAn attacker with access to a leaked setup code could reuse the shared gateway credential outside the intended one-time pairing flow.\n\n### Affected versions\n\n`openclaw` `<= 2026.3.11`\n\n### Patch\n\nFixed in `openclaw` `2026.3.12`. Setup codes now carry short-lived bootstrap tokens that are only valid for the initial device bootstrap exchange. Update to `2026.3.12` or later and rotate any previously exposed shared gateway credentials if setup codes may have leaked.","published":"2026-03-29T12:44:32.407Z","modified":"2026-08-12T03:51:26.825509644Z","cvss":null,"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"openclaw","fixedVersion":"2026.3.12"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/33xxx/CVE-2026-33575.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/openclaw/openclaw/security/advisories/GHSA-7h7g-x2px-94hj"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-33575"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/openclaw-long-lived-credential-exposure-in-pairing-setup-codes"},{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://github.com/openclaw/openclaw"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://github.com/openclaw/openclaw/releases/tag/v2026.3.12"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-12T03:51:26.825509644Z"}}
