Prior to version 2.0.0, the application allows users to set weak passwords (e.g., 1234, password) without enforcing minimum strength requirements. Additionally, active sessions remain valid after a user changes their password. An attacker who compromises an account (via brute-force or credential stuffing) can maintain persistent access even after the victim resets their password. Version 2.0.0 contains a fix.","published":"2026-02-25T21:35:23.230Z","modified":"2026-08-12T03:51:34.818000500Z","cvss":{"score":9.1,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N"},"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"Go","name":"code.vikunja.io/api","fixedVersion":null}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://vikunja.io/changelog/vikunja-v2.0.0-was-released"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/27xxx/CVE-2026-27575.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/go-vikunja/vikunja/security/advisories/GHSA-3ccg-x393-96v8"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-27575"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-12T03:51:34.818000500Z"}}
