An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted serialized Java object to the web-based management interface of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the device and elevate privileges to root.\r\nNote: If the FMC management interface does not have public internet access, the attack surface that is associated with this vulnerability is reduced.","published":"2026-03-04T18:16:27.153","modified":"2026-06-17T10:17:10.937","cvss":{"score":10,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"epss":{"score":0.31231,"percentile":0.98154,"asOf":"2026-09-08"},"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":1,"affectedPackages":[],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://sec.cloudapps.cisco.com/security/center/content/CiscoSecurityAdvisory/cisco-sa-fmc-rce-NKhnULJh"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/security/amazon-threat-intelligence-teams-identify-interlock-ransomware-campaign-targeting-enterprise-firewalls/"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://www.cisa.gov/known-exploited-vulnerabilities-catalog?field_cve=CVE-2026-20131"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","NVD","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-06-17T10:17:10.937"}}
