Even though the application itself escapes special characters (e.g., <>), the underlying library converts these encoded characters into legitimate HTML, thereby possibly causing stored XSS. Attackers can append a XSS payload to a word that has a corresponding glossary entry.","published":"2024-10-31T21:31:45Z","modified":"2024-11-01T22:12:21.159875Z","cvss":{"score":6.1,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N"},"epss":{"score":0.00474,"percentile":0.38756,"asOf":"2026-08-12"},"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":0,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"npm","name":"glossarizer","fixedVersion":null}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-42515"},{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://github.com/PebbleRoad/glossarizer"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://herolab.usd.de/security-advisories/usd-2024-0011"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/glossarizer"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2024-11-01T22:12:21.159875Z"}}
