This issue makes the RSA implementation with 2048 bit private keys incorrect on such machines and memory corruption will happen during the computation. As a consequence of the memory corruption an attacker may be able to trigger a remote code execution on the machine performing the computation. SSL/TLS servers or other servers using 2048 bit RSA private keys running on machines supporting AVX512IFMA instructions of the X86_64 architecture are affected by this issue.","published":"2022-07-01T07:30:17.282Z","modified":"2026-08-12T03:51:27.371886233Z","cvss":{"score":9.8,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"epss":null,"cisaKev":null,"exploitsKnown":3,"affectedPackages":[{"ecosystem":"crates.io","name":"openssl-src","fixedVersion":"300.0.9"}],"fix":null,"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git%3Ba=commitdiff%3Bh=4d8a88c134df634ba610ff8db1eb8478ac5fd345"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://www.openssl.org/news/secadv/20220705.txt"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2022/2xxx/CVE-2022-2274.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2022-2274"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.netapp.com/advisory/ntap-20220715-0010/"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://github.com/openssl/openssl/issues/18625"}],"provenance":{"sources":["OSV.dev","FIRST.org (EPSS)"],"lastVerified":"2026-08-12T03:51:27.371886233Z"}}
